Many people say that the threshold of photography is too low now. Even though the picture quality of smart phones has made leaps and bounds, and the post-production technology is becoming more and more convenient, it has reached the level where everyone is a photographer. It is often said that the market is bad. Do you agree? However, a senior shared with me earlier that he thought that the threshold of photography was not equipment or skills, but mentality and personality that really made photographers different from others.
In fact, for a photographer, in about half a year or so, he can master all the skills he needs, such as camera operation, lighting, composition, post-production, etc. If he studies hard, half a year is enough, but it actually depends on his inner accomplishment to let him go on and be independent. So what are the most common problems?

1. Too troublesome
The level of photos actually depends on the light and content, but many people are used to being eager for success. They go out for a walk and take pictures wherever they want, and then go home to fiercely adjust the colors, hoping to use the smell of film to cover up the photos without content and features.
But most successful photographers, when they want to shoot a good work, don't pick up the camera at the first time, but open their notepad and list the things that need to be prepared, whether it is preparing the venue, paying attention to the weather, preparing the required materials, etc., depending on the type of photography.
Others spend 10 times or 100 times the time doing the preliminary work, which is the threshold.
2. Didn't insist
Nowadays, people can become famous with a photo, but to succeed, they must be able to repeat outstanding creations and then become a style. However, too many of us didn't persist, didn't constantly strive for excellence, and even shoot for the same theme repeatedly, because this process is very long, and this kind of effort may not be visible to anyone, or even you can't see that it will succeed in the short term, and then you give up.
Some people are willing to persist in creating until they are 50 years old before they become famous. This is the threshold.

3. Dare not take risks
Behind most successful photographers, there are many unsuccessful photos, but you can't see them. That's right, shooting with a hot theme, such as shooting a certain scenery in a certain season, is of course not wrong, but you can only follow other people's butts forever. No matter how sharp your lens is and hundreds of millions of pixels are, it won't be your success. Of course, it is difficult to open up a new road, and the failure rate must be very high. If you succeed, someone will copy it, but you won't get real success if you give up the difficult and take the easy.
Photographers constantly pursue breakthroughs and fight repeatedly. This is the threshold.
4. So-so
It is the habit of many people to take cameras just to shoot, not to shoot well. However, successful photographers will not only strive for perfection in equipment, technology and even post-production, but also rack their brains on the theme content, hoping for more elements, more surprises and more differences. It's not enough to just pursue accurate focus, sharp photos and complete composition. What else do you have in your photos? How can we achieve 200% perfection? How can you make others scream?
Successful photos are photos that no one can take better than you, and that's the threshold.

5. Too high self-esteem
I don't want to shoot subjects that need to contact people and will be rejected, subjects that want to get along with people with different personalities, and subjects that want others to give advice and improve after shooting. I'm afraid of being criticized, and I feel that I have a great status in the Jianghu after shooting for decades, so I go to Block people as soon as I see someone's objection. I can't accept that I am a human being and make mistakes. I just want to hide in Comfort Zone, leaving all kinds of admirers around the stove to keep warm.
Being able to let go of yourself and focus on the creation of photography is the threshold.
epilogue
What can be done to ensure success? The predecessors didn't give a clear answer, because 99% of people in the world are not the most successful photographers, and photography is just an amateur hobby for most people. But if we really want to cross the threshold, yes, instead of buying a new camera, more importantly, it may be to adjust our mentality and reflect on our personality, right?
