Composition is to arrange the elements in the scene in a certain rule in the picture. There are many such "rules", including those classic composition methods summed up after hundreds of years of practical experience-it will look better to arrange picture elements with this "rule"; It's more according to the photographer's aesthetics to think about the most suitable composition method according to each scene.
One of the most important functions of learning composition is to highlight the subject. Because you have to tell the viewer what it is. The most direct and changeable composition way to highlight the main body is frame composition.

Frame composition is to frame the main body in the picture. In this way, the viewer's eyes will gather because of this "frame" and notice the scenery in the frame, thus playing a role in highlighting the subject.

What are the "boxes"?
Frame composition must be "live", and this "live" lies in the choice of frames. Some common boxes, such as "boxes" with different artificial geometries, are relatively easy to find.
1. Square regular frame composition
Composition when the frame selected during shooting is square. Using wooden windows for composition, photos are just like paintings. When frame composition is formed through doors and windows as the foreground, the viewer's line of sight is guided to the subject through the frames of doors and windows, which enhances the layering of the picture and has more interest at the same time, forming different picture effects.

2. Multi-shape regular frame composition
When the picture is surrounded by a frame, the frame is characterized by being multi-shaped and regular. The windows of Bitu buildings, the holes of fences, or some stage scenes may all be multi-shaped and regular frame compositions.

3. Circular frame composition
A circle is a closed whole. When used in photographic composition, it usually means that the subject is circular. The circular shape will naturally create the aesthetic effect of rotation, movement and contraction visually. When multiple circles appear, choosing appropriate angles can form inner circles and outer circles, which can reflect a strong perspective effect.

A lot of circular compositions come from careful observation of life. Such as pipe structures, waste tires, cups, etc.

4. Irregular frame composition
Irregular frame composition is mostly a naturally generated "frame" or a "frame" formed by the placement of irregular objects. For example, some frames formed by rocks, flowers, etc., or frames formed by magazines in newsstands, have no obvious shape characteristics. Using this kind of frame to take photos usually has a unique perspective, which can bring a certain visual freshness to the viewer.

In addition to the above boxes, there are some hidden "boxes" that are relatively obscure and difficult to find. If you can make use of these boxes, you can add a lot of new ideas and interest to the picture. It can be the "box" you find anywhere, like, branches, flowers, water, and things like light, shadow, rain, fog-whatever you use.
Uncommon boxes
1. A frame formed by contrast between light and dark
When there is a strong contrast between light and dark in the picture, you can use shadows to create a frame, such as in the photo below.

2. Frames formed by using natural vegetation
When using "frame composition", don't let the so-called "rules" bind your hands and feet. Even the trees shown in the picture below can form a good frame when viewed from different angles.

3. Use street view to create a frame
When shooting buildings, you can also use narrow streets to add a "frame" to the picture. Although it is a half frame, it will still make the subject stand out and make the picture have some new ideas and interest.

4. Man-made frame
There is also a kind of frame. We can artificially create a frame by using mobile phones and photo frames, which can also play a role in highlighting the subject. Occasionally, this method is still an interesting way of composition.

5. The box itself is the main body
The "frames" in frame composition are not necessarily accompanying bodies, when these frames are distinctive enough and have formal aesthetic feeling. It can be a subject and exist.
For example, in the following photo, through the arrangement of multiple frames and the strong contrast between light and dark, the "frame" itself is the main body of this photo, but the characters in the picture exist as companions, adding to the artistic conception of the picture.
