With the same scene and the same equipment, why do other people's works always amaze everyone, but their own are unremarkable? The answer lies not in the quality of equipment, but in the difference of shooting ideas. Ideas are the core key to determine the texture of photographic works.

When most people take pictures, they are used to aiming at the scene and pressing the shutter without thinking, just acting as the "replica" of the scene. Excellent photographers will first mobilize their senses to observe: Where does the light come from? Which detail has the most sense of story? How to compose the picture to highlight the subject? For example, facing the old street, the former may take a messy picture of the whole street, while the latter will focus on the mottled wall shadows in the setting sun and the vicissitudes of the old craftsmen's fingertips, and outline the texture of the years with light, shadow and details.

The essence of photography is to "tell stories with the lens", and the idea is the script of the story. 2. Clarify the theme expressed

Good photos should have a distinct theme. It can be a person, an object or even a storyline that shows the subject.

The theme must be clear and unambiguous, so that the viewer can see what you are mainly shooting at a glance.

Those photos that don't know what the author wants to show after looking at them for a long time, or even the author doesn't know what he wants to show, are definitely not a good photography.

3. Get closer

Photographer Robert Capa once said, "If your photo is not great, it means you can go closer to shoot it".

Especially when shooting the local parts of people (eyes, lips, body curves...) or macro shooting, humanistic documentary, etc., if you don't get closer, the work will not be able to present the key points.

4. Rule of thirds

The most basic rule of thirds composition must be known and used. By placing the subject on any position of the four intersections on the screen, you can get a more vivid composition. (Don't put all the subjects in the middle)

5. Shoot your own style

The style mentioned here doesn't refer to your photography style, but that many people shoot in the same scene, and you have to take different photos from others and discover the wonderful features of the scenery.
