A photo with a clean background always makes the reader's favorable impression rise, because if the surrounding environment is chaotic at the time of shooting, it is difficult for the model to stand out from the picture-one of the "enemies" of photographers is the chaotic background.
So, what should I do when I meet a scene with a messy background? How can I highlight the model in the cluttered background and take an aesthetic portrait?
Come-
Photographer Jenna Martin recently tried such a challenge with her model friend Rachel Catherine: taking beautiful portraits in cluttered places. So they decided to do this shoot at Lowe's, a cluttered furniture hypermarket.

Before they started, they set a few rules:
1. Make use of on-site conditions to shoot, and no additional lights or photography props are allowed;
2. On-site objects cannot be rearranged, and used objects must be put back to their original places;
3. If there are other customers or clerks in the background, the shooting should be suspended to avoid inconvenience to others.
When they were shooting, it was only an hour before the hypermarket closed, so there weren't many people in the store. Only a few curious people stopped to have a look, but the photographer said it was normal.
The photographer compares the scene captured with the mobile phone with the finished product captured with the camera, as follows:
Scenario 1: Before painting samples

If the surrounding environment at the time of shooting is chaotic, it will be difficult for the model to stand out from the picture.
At this time, we can choose to shoot at a low camera position, with colorful and orderly paint samples as the background, which will make the picture much cleaner and avoid the unclear subject caused by too much content in the entire picture.

Scene 2: Before lighting decoration

When taking pictures indoors, it is easiest to have many and miscellaneous things. You can appropriately increase the sensitivity, turn on the aperture priority mode, and blur the background with a large aperture to take pictures. The blurred halo highlights the model more, and it also comes with the special effects of Bling Bling.

Scenario 3: Aisle

Different from IKEA in China, the aisles of many foreign furniture stores are "eclectic". Look for a relatively clean aisle. On the premise of ensuring the balance of composition, let the models interact with the live props to find the sense of balance in the picture.

Scenario 4: Green Garden

The most direct way to capture a clean partial picture and remove clutter is to "crop". Cut wherever there is clutter, and only keep a clean and uniform background in the picture.

Summary:
1. Eliminate messy background at a low angle;
2. Blur the messy background;
3. Look for parts to create a clean background.
If we can't change the environment, then go and create a more suitable environment!
